A man accused of shooting another male on a MARTA train is now facing charges after a multiagency manhunt for his whereabouts, police say.

ATLANTA, GA — Authorities say they have arrested the accused gunman in a shooting that injured a male on a MARTA train Friday in Midtown.

When they arrived, police said officers found a male suffering from a gunshot wound to his left arm and leg. His condition was unknown Monday, and his age was not released.

The suspect, who police identified as Anthony Tyrone Gresham, 42, fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.

The manhunt for Gresham included multiple agencies, including FBI Atlanta and sheriff's offices in Douglas and Haralson counties.

Members of a FBI task force saw Gresham walking along Lee Road in Douglasville around 10 a.m. Sunday, police said.

A Douglas County deputy approached Gresham, who ran into the woods, police said.

Authorities set up a perimeter, and Georgia State Patrol task force members arrived and requested the department's Aviation Unit, police said. Douglas County K9 units were also requested.

Gresham was "flushed out of the woods" and returned to Lee, where he was arrested, police said.

The FBI said the area where Gresham was arrested was near I-20.

Gresham was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, police said. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail.
