Kilpatrick Townsend Adds Two Associates to the Atlanta Office

ATLANTA (December 8) Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today the addition of two new associates to the firm’s Atlanta office.  Akarsh Belagodu is joining the Electronics and Software Team in the Intellectual Property Department and Kimberly Tacy is joining the Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets Team.

Mr. Belagodu focuses his practice on patent litigation and patent prosecution involving a variety of technologies including computer architecture, microelectronics, satellite communications, integrated circuits, semiconductors, software applications and mechanical devices. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Belagodu was an associate at an Atlanta IP boutique firm where he gained significant patent prosecution experience. 

Mr. Belagodu earned his B.S. in Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and his J.D. with a certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Chicago-Kent College of Law.  While in law school, he was a member of the trial advocacy team and an associate editor of the Journal of Intellectual Property. Prior to law school, Mr. Belagodu was a Product Development Engineer at Intel Corporation.

Ms. Tacy focuses her practice in the area of real estate, finance and capital markets, including representation of major banks and loan servicers in connection with a full range of real estate and securitization issues and related transactions. She regularly represents clients with respect to the disposition of real estate, loan assumptions, transfers of ownership interests, cash management, loan modifications and workouts, receiverships and foreclosures, easements, condemnations, releases and substitutions, and various consent requests.

Ms. Tacy earned her B.S. in Economics and Political Science from Florida State University, summa cum laude, and her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law, with honors.
