Another Sutherland Partner Named to the Diversity & the Bar "Rainmakers" List

ATLANTA and HOUSTON (November 18, 2015)—Sutherland Asbill & Brennan LLP is pleased to announce that Partner Ram C. Sunkara has been named to the “Rainmakers” list by Diversity & the Bar, a publication of the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. Mr. Sunkara is the second Sutherland partner to be named a “Rainmaker.” He joins Partner Allegra J. Lawrence-Hardy, who was named to the list in last year’s edition.

In his featured profile, Mr. Sunkara explained to Diversity & the Bar how to relate to a wide range of clients and understand their needs. “It’s important to move from being a doer to a trusted business adviser to the client. To achieve that, one must learn the ins and outs of their clients’ businesses and be proactive in identifying both risks and opportunities for clients utilizing that expertise.”

At Sutherland, Mr. Sunkara chairs the firm’s Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Distributed Generation/Combined Heat and Power (CHP), and Petrochemical teams. His experience spans the entire energy spectrum from electric power to oil and gas transactions. He counsels a wide range of Fortune companies, financial institutions and private equity/hedge fund clients on negotiating and finalizing acquisition and disposition agreements; structuring transactions and auction processes; negotiating offtake arrangements, project development and construction agreements, joint ventures, project financing and structured financing matters; and managing all aspects of a deal. He also helps industrial and commercial clients develop cost-saving energy efficiencies.
