Arrest Made in Midtown National Guardsman Shooting
Harold Dodson has been charged with the murder of Atting Eminue outside a Midtown homeless shelter.

Atlanta police have charged a 21-year-old man with the murder of a National Guardsman that happened in late August outside a Midtown homeless shelter.
According to the AJC, Harold Dodson has been charged in the killing of Sgt. Atting Eminue, 24, who was shot to death outside a homeless shelter at Peachtree and Pine Streets on Aug. 30.
Dodson was arrested on Oct. 23 and is being held at the Fulton County jail.

Eminue was a Nigerian immigrant and U.S. Army soldier who was walking with a friend to his car near the shelter when he was shot following an altercation. Eminue’s family told WSB-TV that he was giving shoes away to the homeless when he was killed.
Eminue served three tours of duty in Afghanistan and was a father, his family said.
