Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency Urges Residents to Get Ready for Winter Weather

Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency is joining Georgia’s statewide Winter Weather Preparedness Week, and encourages all residents to take steps now to prepare their homes, vehicles and businesses for winter weather in coming weeks and months.

December 1-5, 2014 has been proclaimed as Winter Weather Preparedness Week in Georgia in efforts to educate citizens about the dangers of winter weather and how to always be prepared.

Atlanta-Fulton County Emergency Management Agency will host a live twitter chat from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2014, to discuss winter readiness, how to prepare for inclement weather, and best practices for dealing with weather related emergency situations.

The Fulton County Emergency Management office will pose questions and provide answers for citizens concerning winterizing homes, learning terms used to identify winter weather, developing a family communication plan, preparing a winter ready kit for cars, and how to handle emergency situations.
