Atlanta Police: Cobb Fire Lieutenant Beat Wife
Joseph Bennett allegedly assaulted his wife several times on Sunday, breaking her nose.

A Cobb County firefighter is in custody at the Fulton County Jail after Atlanta police say he beat his wife.
According to WSB-TV, Lt. Joseph Bennett attacked his legally blind wife on Sunday morning while staying at the Omni Hotel in downtown Atlanta. A police report obtained by WSB-TV claims that Bennett threw his wife to the ground on several occasions, and even broke her nose by grabbing her by the back of the head and ramming it into the ground.
Bennett, a resident of Lilburn, has been charged with aggravated battery and battery causing substantial physical harm, according to Fulton County jail records.

The Cobb County Fire Department has placed Bennett on unpaid administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
