Atlanta Police Department Featured on Television Show
The Atlanta Police Homicide Unit will appear on "The First 48" Thursday night.

The Atlanta Police Department’s Homicide Unit will be featured in Season 14 of the documentary series ‘The First 48’. The premiere will air on the A&E network on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 9:00pm EST.
The First 48 crew filmed alongside the Homicide Unit as well as other key units in the Department such as Fugitive, ID and throughout the zones as they investigated and solved homicides in the City of Atlanta.

“We are proud to showcase the excellent work of our Homicide Unit,” said Chief George Turner. “Our homicide clearance rate is consistently above the national average and viewers will see firsthand how dedicated our investigators are to solving some of the most heinous crimes in our city.”
‘The First 48’ offers an insider’s look at the real-life world of homicide investigators. While the series often follows the investigations to their end, it usually focuses on their first 48 hours. Each episode shows how detectives use forensic evidence, witness interviews and other advanced detective skills to identify suspects.
