Atlanta Police Department Noted for Professional Excellence
The Atlanta Police Department was reaccredited for the fourth time since 2005 for consistency and excellence in public safety and professionalism.
Atlanta residents can go about their lives in peace knowing their police force has their act together and an award to prove it.
The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies has just reaccredited the Atlanta Police Department for the fourth time since 2005.
The accreditation recognizes public safety and professional excellence, according to a news release.
The department was recognized at a national conference in San Diego. Certification is representative of significant professional achievements of the police department. It is also an indication that the Atlanta department’s practices are consistent with professional standards.
Assessors evaluated the Atlanta police force in November 2013, examining all aspects of the department, including policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.
“We are pleased to be reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies,” Chief George N. Turner said. “This certification is validation that the high standards we hold our personnel is aligned with national guidelines. This certification will help to instill greater public confidence in our agency.”
