Atlanta Police Officer Collects Donations for Victims of Holiday Burglary
Although police are investigating the burglary, one cop is going above and beyond to help the Atlanta family.

When an Atlanta police officer and former Marine learned that a home in the southwestern portion of the city had been burglarized on Wednesday morning, he immediately went into action to help the victims.
Officer Mason Mercure hasnβt been able to apprehend the suspects as of yet, but he has been collecting donations from fellow police officers and Marines in an effort to replace the Christmas gifts the burglars stole, WSB-TV reports.
The station reports that the burglars made off with kidsβ toys, iPads, and even attacked one of the homeownersβ dogs. The burglars also stole a TV, jewelry, and firearms, according to WSB-TV.

Mercure told WSB-TV that heβs received over $1,000 in donations in the first day since he began soliciting funds on Facebook, and has established a GoFundMe page which hopes to raise an additional $5,000 to help restore the homeownersβ Christmas.
