Atlanta Police Officer Shoots at Truck Fleeing Atlanta Medical Center
Before escaping the Midtown parking deck, the driver had narrowly avoided hitting one officer and struck another, slightly injuring him.
Atlanta police are looking for the driver of a vehicle which tried to run down a pair of officers during an altercation at a a parking deck serving the Atlanta Medical Center in Midtown Tuesday evening.
WSB-TV reports that a man inside the lobby of the medical center had started an altercation, but had fled to the parking deck before police arrived. Officers were advised that the man might be armed and might be behind the wheel of a red truck.
When officers discovered the red pickup truck in the parking garage, it began driving backwards towards the officers. One of the officers was able to get out of the way, but a second received a slight hand injury from being hit by the truck. One of the officers fired a shot at the truck, smashing out one of the truck’s tinted windows.

Police are continuing to investigate the situation and are trying to learn what led to the altercation in the lobby.
