Atlanta Public Schools Investigating Pepper Spray Use In Bus Fight

Ten students were hospitalized in the aftermath of the fight.

Atlanta Public Schools wants to learn more about a fight that broke out on a bus which allegedly led to the use of pepper spray, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

A school district spokesperson said that two boys got in a fight on a school bus at Maynard Jackson High School in East Atlanta. One of the school’s assistant principals stepped in to break up the fight, but then someone discharged pepper spray to stop the fracas. Some reports say the pepper spray was used by the school bus driver, but the school district said it was too soon to say who was responsible.

Ten students were taken to the hospital due to pepper spray exposure, and several other students and the assistant principal were treated by medical personnel on scene. All of the students who were taken to the hospital have since been released.
