Atlanta Streetcar Social This Thursday
The event will include a walking tour of the streetcar route and visits to businesses.
Atlanta Streetcar's monthly event which encourages people to patronize businesses along the unfinished streetcar route will kick off Thursday evening.
July's edition of Streetcar Socials will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the City Walk Apartments on Auburn Avenue. Once assembled, event goers will walk the streetcar's planned route and visit the businesses along the way. Free food and drinks will be offered during the event.
Businesses along the streetcar route have suffered a loss of income due to street closures and construction delays, which have pushed the launch of the streetcar project to November.
Mayor Kasim Reed has promised that the $100 million, 2.7 mile streetcar loop from Centennial Olympic Park to the King Center will be operational by the end of the year.
