According to WSB-TV, the family of Damon Clay, 17, says that the teen was attacked on Monday by two other teenagers who thought Clay had stolen a PlayStation 3. The attack has left Clay scarred and burned over 70 percent of his body, the station says.
Clay had been in jail on a burglary charge, but accepted a three-month diversion program offered by an East Point nonprofit. Family members told WSB-TV that the program provided Clay with no supervision and didn’t even have a group home for its clients; instead, Clay had to couch surf with friends and family.
