Award-Winning Journalist Scott Slade Returns to Host New Season of “Lawmakers” Premiering in January 2017

Award-winning journalist Scott Slade will return as host of “Lawmakers” in January 2017, at the start of Georgia’ s next legislative session.

The long-running GPB television program provides daily, in-depth coverage of the state legislature during the annual Georgia General Assembly session and reports on issues including taxes, jobs, schools and the environment.

Slade is well known as the host of “Atlanta’s Morning News” on WSB AM and FM, and he is a two-time winner of the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award as Best Radio Personality in America in both major and large markets.

"There is no better way to stay informed about the issues facing our state and to get to know the legislators who will make law and policy to address them,” said Slade, who last hosted the series in 2013. “I'm thrilled to be part of 'Lawmakers' again on Georgia Public Broadcasting."

Current Lawmakers host and veteran journalist, Bill Nigut will continue to focus his efforts on his two popular radio shows, Political Rewind and Two Way Street, which can both be heard on the statewide GPB Radio Network and at gpb.org.
