Beyonce to Raise Money for Flint in Formation World Tour

The superstar will be in Atlanta on May 1 at the Georgia Dome.

DETROIT, MI – Music superstar Beyoncé’s representatives announced Sunday after her SuperBowl 50 halftime performance with Coldplay that she will hold a benefit for children in Flint as part of her two-continent Formation World Tour, which includes a May 1 concert at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

There’s no word on ticket prices.

In a statement Sunday, Beyoncé said she and the United Way of Genesee County will team with the Community Foundation of Greater Flint to “create a fund that will address long-term developmental, education, nutrition and health needs of the children affected by the Flint water crisis.”

Additional details of the program, part of Beyoncé’s #BeyGOOD initiative, weren’t revealed, but fans are encouraged to watch for developments on her @BeyGood Twitter account.

The North American leg of the tour kicks off April 27 in Marlins Park in Miami and ends June 12 in Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA. The European tour takes the star to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Italy, France, Denmark, Sweden and Belgium.
