Carbon Neutral Gasoline Coming to Midtown
The BP station at Spring Street and North Avenue will sell the new gasoline.

Staff Report
GreenPrint, LLC. announced today the launch of the ZERO Clean Driving program, which provides consumers with the ability to fill their tanks with the world’s first Carbon Neutral Gasoline. Specifically, beginning today the company will begin testing their patent-pending product at four Atlanta area BP stations – enabling drivers to dramatically reduce their daily carbon footprint.
According to the latest data from the Carbon Dioxide Information Analysis Center at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the CO2 produced by the average U.S. citizen produces 17.6 metric tons of CO2 annually, primarily through the burning of fossil fuels. That output is almost 3 times more than the average consumer in China and 10 times more than they typical Indian citizen.
The impact of their driving habits is not lost on consumers. In a recent survey of individuals across the U.S representing a diverse cross-section of the population, respondents overwhelmingly indicated their interest in petroleum retailers offering carbon neutral gasoline – and even their willingness to go out of their way to stop stations that offer it. “The consumers are clearly interested in the concept of carbon neutral gasoline – starting today we will provide them the ability to actually choose it at the pump when they fill their tanks”, said GreenPrint CEO Peter Davis. “With no complex changes to the existing pump or gasoline mixture, customers can now neutralize their vehicle’s emissions by planting a tree locally when they purchase ZERO, Carbon Neutral Gasoline. Our patent-pending technology will enable people to drive away from the pump with not only a full tank, but a clear conscience too.”
The participating BP stations are owned by Georgia Oil Holdings. “We believe that offering Carbon Neutral Gasoline has the potential to be a tremendous win-win for petroleum retailers, like us, and for consumers,” said Mark Murgash, a senior executive with the company. “Just like community recycling programs that have made it easy for tens of millions of people to do the right thing by simply placing their bottles and cans on the curb on trash day, we’re confident that a program that makes it convenient for people who want to offset their carbon footprint when they fill their tank will be quickly embraced by consumers – and has the potential to differentiate us from our competitors,” suggested Murgash.
The Atlanta-area BP stations participating in the pilot include:
• BP Station #3700 Old Alabama BP Station, Alpharetta, GA 30022
• BP Station #1465 Holcomb Bridge Rd, Roswell GA 30076
• BP Station #610 Spring St NW (at North Ave), Atlanta GA 30308
• BP Station #5018 Peachtree Industrial, Chamblee GA 30341
“In the future most people may be driving an electric or alternative fuel vehicle, but until the cost and technology enables broader adoption, we see carbon neutral gasoline as the only viable bridge to a sustainable future,” concluded GreenPrint’s Davis.
