Code Enforcement Summit Coming on Aug. 16
The City of Atlanta wants more citizens to get involved to fight blight.
The City of Atlanta is about to hold a summit discussing code violations, urban blight, and ways citizens can get involved to battle decay.
According to Neighbor Newspapers, the summit will begin at 9 a.m. at Aug. 16 at the Boisfeuillet Jones Atlanta Civic Center on Piedmont Avenue. Topics to be covered include the importance of community involvement in restoring distress properties through reporting code violations, an explanation of current code and zoning laws, and a Q and A session where citizens can ask representatives about code and zoning violations.
Representatives from the Code Enforcement Commission, the municipal courts, the solicitor’s office, and several other governmental bodies will be in attendance at the session to share information and answer questions.
