During this interactive, hands-on design and making camp, middle school campers will have the opportunity to learn about inspiring projects in the realm of social impact design in Atlanta and around the world. Projects will feature design that cares about the end user and design that engages with issues in health, material lifecycle and connecting people. Campers will engage in the design thinking processes, using them to prototype and test spaces and ideas that address human and community needs. They will learn about what matters to humans as potential users and create designs that aim to make the world better. The instructor for the middle school camp is architectural and community designer Catherine Muller who teaches design in the Common First Year Program in Georgia Tech’s College of Architecture.
Ccamp meets Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $395 (including $100 non-refundable registration fee). Camp meets at MODA’s Midtown Camp Center. Registration is available at http://www.museumofdesign.org or by calling 404-979-6455.
