The Midtown Development Review Committee recently got its first look at a proposal to build a new multi-story hotel in the vicinity of the Arts Center MARTA station.

North Point Hospitality Group Inc. pitched the 152-room Hampton Inn & Suites during the committee’s Jan. 13 meeting. According to the Midtown Alliance’s recap of the meeting, the proposal calls for the construction of a 10 story building on top of eight levels of underground parking at the corner of West Peachtree and 15th streets.

The committee recommended that North Point Hospitality Group revise their plans to improve the transition between the ground-floor restaurant space and the adjacent outdoor seating area. It is not known whether North Point Hospitality Group will be able to make the recommended changes before the committee’s next meeting on Feb. 10.

North Point Hospitality Group is familiar with building hotels in Midtown; the group is responsible for the Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites development at Williams and 10th streets, the Midtown Alliance said.
