Talkbacks: After every performance
Based on story-making workshops with patients and caregivers, the lyrical inner visions, fragmented memories, and private terrors of living with dementia are delicately realized in this compelling performance that reflects both the stigma and the acceptance that is equally present and possible in the person with dementia, as well as their caregivers and family members.
D-Generation explores the rich creative potential and ability to communicate that exists in people with late-stage dementia. These stories, which are associative and non-linear, were gathered by Sandglass Theater’s performers during 20 visits to care facilities, during which people with dementia were guided through a collective story-making method called TimeSlips.
Funded in part by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Theater Project, with lead funding from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation
