Public Relations Society of America Georgia Chapter Hosts October Chapter Meeting
ATLANTA — The Public Relations Society of America Georgia Chapter (prsageorga.org) will host its monthly chapter meeting and luncheon on Thursday, October 8. Featured speaker Jennifer Bowcock, vice president of global communications for Dolby Laboratories, will discuss the use of PR and social media to enhance brand evolution. The event will be held at Maggiano’s Buckhead in Atlanta.

Every company grows and changes over time — and even the world’s most storied brands must evolve to stay relevant. As leader of worldwide communication for Dolby Laboratories, Bowcock will share her unique insights about how to use PR and social media to ensure that consumers’ perceptions of a brand evolve along with the company’s mission.
Dolby Laboratories is a global leader in audio, video and voice technologies for mobile devices, at the cinema, at home and at work. Before joining Dolby, Bowcock, an Atlanta native, led momentum, consumer and product communications for Apple as part of the original iPhone team. Although she is now based in San Francisco, PRSA meeting attendees may know and remember Bowcock from her tenure at AT&T in Atlanta, where she served as director for consumer and product PR and national sponsorships.

PRSA Georgia (prsageorgia.org), the second-largest local chapter in the national society, consists of more than 900 professionals throughout Georgia. Its mission is to enhance the profession, provide continuing education and offer networking opportunities for its members. The Chapter hosts regular monthly meetings and seminars, an Annual Conference for professionals and an annual Real World PR collegiate conference day.
The Chapter includes eight Special Interest Groups (Corporate and Employee Communications, Healthcare, Independent Counselors, Leader Board, Nonprofit, Technology, Travel and Tourism, and Young Professionals) that meet at various times. It also supports 10 PRSSA (student society) groups at the following colleges: Berry College (Rome), Clark Atlanta University (Atlanta), Columbus State University (Columbus), Georgia College & State University (Milledgeville), Georgia State University (Atlanta), Georgia Southern University (Statesboro), Kennesaw State University (Kennesaw), Savannah State University (Savannah), University of Georgia (Athens), and University of West Georgia (Carrollton).
