Driver Killed in Early Morning Crash at Georgia Tech

The crash happened near Tech's Naval ROTC Building and the Language Institute.

The driver of a car being pursued by the Georgia State Patrol is dead after an early morning chase that began in downtown and ended on the Georgia Tech campus.

The AJC is reporting a state trooper attempted to stop a silver Honda Accord for speeding and failure to maintain lane on I-75/85 and Williams Street.

A Georgia State Patrol spokesman told the paper the driver exited the Downtown Connector, turned onto Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard, then onto Centennial Olympic Park Drive, and stopped. When the trooper got out of his vehicle to approach the car, the driver sped off.
