The Anti-Defamation League presents Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín, performed by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with Maestro Murry Sidlin, Conductor.
Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín tells the story of Jewish WWII prisoners in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp who learned Verdi’s Requiem Mass and then courageously performed it sixteen times in defiance and resistance.
This is a multi-media performance with actors, video testimony with surviving members of the choir, and original Nazi propaganda film footage.
