A single state legislator has represented the Virginia-Highland neighborhood as a whole for many years.
Last year, legislators redrew district boundaries statewide and the new maps split Virginia-Highland down the center at Virginia Avenue.
District 57 and District 58, which are also basically split by Piedmont Avenue in Midtown, will now represent the neighborhoods in the state House of Representatives.
