Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools Meeting

The theme of the meeting is:  Common Core Standards and Testing/Measurements of Progress.  Over a year ago, Georgia joined with 47 other states to develop a set of core standards for K-12 in English language arts and mathematics (referred to in Georgia as the “CCGS”). These standards are intended to provide a consistent framework throughout the nation to prepare students for success in college and/or the 21st century workplace. How will these standards impact teaching and learning in APS classrooms in the way of curriculum? How do they align to our current Georgia Performance Standards? What happens to Accelerated Math track? Join CINS as we learn about this topic from representatives of the Atlanta Public School and Georgia Department of Education. Questions, as always, are permitted as time allows.
