Lecture: Eighteen Inspirations: The Art of Golf Course Architecture

For decades, scholars, critics and players alike have debated the merits of golf courses as playing fields for the game of golf. But it can be argued that golf courses are also works of art – large scale landscape sculptures informed by deliberate aesthetic and artistic choices made by their designers. Rand Jerris, Senior Managing Director, Public Services, United States Golf Association, will explore the relationship between American golf course architecture and the broader artistic movements that have informed and influenced the development of art and architecture in this country.
