SCAD Atlanta in partnership with France-Atlanta presents a solo exhibition of photographs by French photographer Pierre Gonnord. Recognizing the 50th anniversary of the death of Nobel Prize-winning author William Faulkner, the Gonnard conducted a three-month residency in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. Through the faces and landscapes he encountered, Portraying the South captures a glimpse into the soul of the Deep South, offering a timeless, unclassifiable, explosive and riveting portrayal of the American Southeast.
The "Portraying the South" exhibition and lecture are organized as part of Atlanta Celebrates Photography 2012 and France-Atlanta.
Artist talk on Nov. 6, 6pm. Reception follows.
