THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FRIDAY, MAY 6.
The Posse Foundation recruits, trains, and sends culturally diverse teams of students to top colleges and universities in the nation. Next year, Posse Atlanta will invite 20 seniors from Grady High School to participate in the 2011-2012 nomination process.
Posse partner colleges and universities are Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York; Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts; Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts; Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York; and The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Posse Scholars receive four year, full-tuition, leadership scholarships. To date, The Posse Foundation and its partner institutions have awarded scholarships to 3,638 students from Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Miami, and Washington, D.C. Posse Scholars are persisting and graduating at a rate of 90%.

Posse is looking for:
· Academic Excellence: Students who have done well academically, and can perform at a high level at an academically rigorous college or university

· Leadership: Dynamic students who demonstrate strong leadership in their schools and/or communities
· Diversity: Students who represent various racial, ethnic, class, gender, sexuality, and life experience backgrounds
· Positive, motivated, talented, ambitious young people
Henry W. Grady High School is allotted a maximum of 20 nominations. Students must meet the following requirements to be considered for nomination.
- Be a rising senior
- 83% or above Numeric Average
- Complete Application Form
- Resume
- One Page Double Spaced Essay (Why I Should be Selected as a Posse Nominee?)
Interested seniors must pick up an application from their Guidance Counselor. Complete application packet must be submitted to their counselor no later than, Friday, May 6, 2011. Students will be notified before the end of the school year whether or not they have been selected as a Grady nominee.
