The man reportedly lost his balance and fell 50 feet to the concrete below. The flag at Turner field flew at half-staff on Sunday in honor of the passionate Braves fan.
Around 25-50 Yankee families were sitting in the section right next to where Murrey fell. Yankees manager Joe Girardi told ESPN, “That’s really sad, that something like this could happen at a ballpark.”
The Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled the cause of death as blunt force injuries of the head and torso. The death was ruled an accident.
There was no underlying medical condition found that contributed to death, according to the ME. Toxicology results are pending and will not be available for several weeks.
Police are investigating the cause of the fall but do not suspect foul play.
