Fatal Shooting, Crash Shut Down Downtown Connector

A car carrying a shooting victim to the hospital crashed with a tractor trailer and another car early Wednesday morning.

Atlanta, GA -- The downtown connector was shut down for more than two hours early Wednesday morning after a fatal shooting and car crash.

Police say that a man in a white Mercedes was shot on Fulton Industrial Industrial Boulevard. A woman who was driving the car was taking the man to Grady Memorial Hospital, but their car possibly ran out of gas and stalled in Midtown.

A chain reaction then started, according to the AJC, when a tractor-trailer stopped behind the stalled car, and another driver crashed into the tractor-trailer.
