Feud Between Rappers May Have Led to Atlanta Barber Shop Shooting

The father of Rich Homie Quan was shot by an unknown gunman at his barber shop on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway

The father of a popular Atlanta rapper was shot inside his barbershop by a masked gunman, sparking concerns that the attack was the result of a feud between the rapper and other artists.

Although Atlanta police told WSB-TV that they will not comment on the theory that the shooting of Corey Lamar was related to his son Dequantes Lamar’s rap career, they have confirmed that the elder Lamar was shot four times and is now in stable condition at a hospital. The younger Lamar is better known as Rich Homie Quan.

A witness told WSB-TV that he heard the gunshots and saw the gunman leave the barbershop on Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway in northwest Atlanta, and gave chase. He lost the gunman’s vehicle, but said it was a black car. Police now believe it was a black Honda Accord.
