A former account assistant at the Georgia Aquarium has been sentenced to prison following her guilty plea to charges of stealing money from her old employer, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office announced Thursday.

Marina Magvrone Davis, 24, an account assistant responsible for issuing credit card refunds to customers, used her position to put approximately $250,000 of company money into her and her roommate’s pockets between February 2012 and January 2013. According to the DA’s Office, Davis issued 114Β false refunds on debit and credit cards linked to bank accounts owned by herself and roommate Ebone Curtisha Ray, 25.

Davis pleaded guilty to one count of violating Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and 11 counts of theft by taking and was sentenced to 20 years, with four to be spent behind bars and the rest to be served on probation. Davis cannot hold a position of trust or fiduciary capacity during the sentence, the DA’s Office said.

Ray is also facing trial for her alleged participation in the scheme, but did not appear in court for her Monday date in court. A bench warrant has been issued for her arrest.
