Fulton County Seeks Future Leaders
Youth Commissioner Recruitment underway for 2015-2016 Term

Fulton County’s Department of Aging and Youth Services Department, Office of Children and Youth is recruiting high school students with interest and/or future aspirations in the areas of community development, law, public policy, political office, debate and much more. Selected students will be involved in planning the economic, legislative, and social future of youth. Program participants will work directly with local elected officials and state legislators to identify potential solutions for issues that affect the quality of life in Fulton County.

Applications are available on the Fulton County website at www.fultoncountyga.gov for rising students entering the 9th, 10th, and 11th grade in a public or private school within Fulton County. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, May 20, 2015, by 5:00 p.m. Applicants accepted into the program will be required to attend a mandatory student and parent orientation. The orientation date will be announced at a later date.
For consideration, a student must meet the following requirements:

· Be a resident of Fulton County
· Attend a school public or private school within Fulton County
· Be in 9th through the 11th grade during the 2015-2016 academic year
· Submit a completed application and a two-page essay
Students accepted into the program will interact with elected leaders on the local and state levels and speak out on behalf of all Fulton County youth. Applications must be submitted via postal mail or faxed to:
