Fulton County Vital Records Phone Number Used By Caller ID Spoofers

A phone number used by Fulton County Vital Records has been utilized by Caller ID spoofers.

Hundreds of individuals throughout the U.S. have contacted Fulton County after receiving calls requesting sensitive medical information. The phone number for Fulton County’s vital records department appears in Caller ID, although Fulton County has nothing to do with the calls.

Fulton County does not seek medical information by phone. Anyone receiving a call from a Fulton County phone number seeking medical information over the phone is urged not to provide the requested information.

Fulton County has reported the matter to legal authorities and advises anyone receiving a spoofed call to contact their local law enforcement.

Spoofing can also be reported to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) by calling 1-888-CALL-FCC or filing a complaint at www.fcc.gov/complaints.
