Fulton County Workforce Development to Host 2015 Job Fair on June 9

Fulton County District 4 Commissioner Joan P. Garner and the Fulton County Office of Workforce Development will co-host the 2015 Job Fair on Tuesday, June 9, 2015. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.in the Adamsville Regional Health Center located at 3700 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Atlanta, GA 30331.

Thursday, May 14, 2015 – 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

In 2014, Commissioner Garner and Workforce Development hosted a Job Fair in the Government Center, which is located in the Commissioner’s previous district. Last year’s Job Fair attracted over 500 participants and 40+ employers resulting in employment for 80 participants.

Overall, in 2014, the Office of Workforce Development helped over 900 people to land jobs. Skills update opportunities were provided to over 200 Workforce Development customers and over 60 Job Readiness Workshops were offered. The Workshops are held throughout the year in Fulton County Career Centers.

Help is available for unemployed workers throughout the year from the Office of Workforce Development. Employment search services and job training services are also offered for the long-term unemployed who may need help in improving their resumes and interviewing skills. Additionally, job seekers who want to know more about obtaining that first opportunity for an interview or receiving information about making it past the first interview to the second interview can obtain the following services:

  • Career Advisement to help set career goals and education requirements
  • Assistance with resume preparation
  • Job Readiness Workshops
  • ‘Dress for Success’ tips and advice on how to complete in-person applications successfully and preparation to make the best of their attendance at interviews and job fairs
  • Free training for unemployed citizens who meet eligibility criteria
