Georgia Weather: Christmas And Weekend Forecast

Here's what metro Atlanta weather will be like through the weekend and into Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

ATLANTA, GA — It won't be a white Christmas in metro Atlanta. In fact, it looks like it will be a sunny and mild one. But we've got some soggy days to get through before the big day arrives on Monday.

The Atlanta area is in for a rainy Saturday, so keep that in mind if you're going to be traveling for the holiday. After a 30 percent chance of rain Friday and into Friday night, we're looking at a 90 percent chance of showers — and possibly a thunderstorm — after noon on Saturday.

The good news is that skies are expected to clear up by Christmas Eve on Sunday and, by Monday, we're looking at a pleasant winter day in Georgia, with sunny skies and a high temperature around 47 degrees. That's not horribly cold, but just nippy enough to let you break out your favorite ugly Christmas sweater.
