Gigabit Internet Coming to Atlanta
The ultra-high speed fiber internet promises faster uploads and downloads for subscribers.

AT&T has announced its plans to bring ultra-high speed internet to Atlanta by installing a state-of-the-art gigabit internet network in the city.
The AT&T GigaPower network, which AT&T says will allow subscribers to fully download an HD movie in 36 seconds, will also include improved TV services for business and residential customers.
“As a city that prides itself on creating a favorable environment for investment and innovation, I am happy to see AT&T bringing its ultra-high speed fiber network to the City of Atlanta,” said Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed in a statement.

“This is a great opportunity for our residents, businesses and visitors, who all stand to benefit from this new service. The City of Atlanta is one of the fastest growing tech hubs in the United States and a hotbed for entrepreneurial activity. U-verse with AT&T GigaPower service will complement this engine of economic growth and help pave the way for future opportunities.”
No details have been released on when the network will be ready or how much a subscription will cost.
