Grady High School Teacher Gets Top Honors
Scott Allen is a Latin teacher for grades 9 through12 at Henry W. Grady High.

Scott Allen, who teaches Latin for grades 9-12 at Henry W. Grady High School, was recently named high school teacher of the year in the Atlanta Public School System.
When asked about teaching, Allen says, “It’s in my blood. Both of my parents were public school teachers, and my brother is as well.”

Dennis Toliver from Grove Park Intermediary and Travis Brown from Sylvan Hills Elementary were also named as teachers of the year for their respective grade levels.
One of the three finalists will be recognized as the APS districtwide teacher of the year on October 29.
