Guns Drawn in Midtown at Child's Birthday Party

The incident happened Thursday night in Catch Air's parking lot on Amsterdam Avenue.

ATLANTA, GA -- A child's one-year-old birthday party Thursday night led to an argument where the boy's father and friends pulled guns on the child's grandfather.

Police are investigating the incident, which happened at Catch Air on Amsterdam Avenue, reports Channel 2 Action News.

Derrick Robinson has custody of his grandson, who was celebrating his birthday. The boy's father and some of his friends showed up at the event, and an argument ensued that led to the parking lot, where the guns came out.

Robinson said the father is trying to take the boy away from him.

No shots were fired during the confrontation, and the suspects drove off before police arrived. The incident is being treated as an assault.
