"Hamilton: An American Musical" opens Wednesday at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. Get all the details, including ticket information, here.

ATLANTA, GA — The Tony-award winning Broadway smash that has Americans rapping along, while learning about early U.S. history, is coming to Atlanta.
"Hamilton: An American Musical" opens Wednesday night at the Fox Theater. And, perhaps shockingly, there are still some tickets available for its 15-show run. While some shows are sold out, the Fox Theatre ticket website showed anywhere from one to 13 seats still open for 10 of the show's performances.
Tickets for the other shows are available, of course, on the secondary market. But be prepared to shell out more than the Fox's face-value price, which itself ranges from about $116 all the way up to $641.50.

Written by Lin Manuel-Miranda, "Hamilton" is based on the 2004 biography "Alexander Hamilton," by historian Ron Chernow and incorporates hip-hop, jazz and R&B along with more traditional musical numbers to tell the story of the American founding father.

An immigrant from the West Indies, Hamilton became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the young country's first treasury secretary. Promotional material bills the wildly popular show as "the story of America then, as told by America now."
