How to Make Halloween Less Spooky for Your Pet and our Fulton County Animal Services Pets of the Week

Want to make Halloween more fun for your Pets? Then read on. Also meet our Pets of the Week!

Kids everywhere are excited – Halloween is a week away! But pets sometimes find Halloween a little too spooky. So how can you help your pet have a happy and safe Halloween? First, keep human treats away from your pet! Candy, especially chocolate, can be toxic to pets, so keep the sweets out of their reach.

Also, if you take your dogs trick-or-treating with the family, please keep them on leashes at all times, and put a reflective collar or vest on them.

If you’ll be giving out candy to trick-or-treaters, keep your pet in a separate room. This will prevent them from running out the door or nipping at a child if they get spooked.

Finally, bring all pets inside to prevent them from being harmed or frightened by pranksters. And always make sure your pet has proper identification, including a microchip and collar with ID tags. Have a safe and happy Halloween!
