Investigation Underway on Atlanta Cop for Drugs, Child Neglect

Christopher Maddox is on paid leave until the investigation into allegations of child neglect and drug use is complete.

An Atlanta police officer is on paid leave while the Atlanta Police Department conducts an internal investigation into accusations that he left his children in deplorable conditions and used drugs, WSB-TV reports.

Police responded to the apartment of Officer Christopher Maddox on Sept. 4, responding to a complaint made by Maddox’s mother in law. When officers arrived at the apartment off Hollywood Road, they allegedly found Maddox’s two young children living in filth.

A police report obtained by WSB-TV says that Maddox’s apartment was littered with dirty laundry and human waste was smeared into the carpet, walls, and windows. The report adds that officers discovered several ”dime bags” containing white residue in various parts of the apartment.
