Kroger Recalling Broccoli Raisin Salad, Simple Truth Veggies Over Listeria

Georgia is one of the states for the recall.

The Kroger Co. is recalling Simple Truth Organic Mixed Vegetables and its Broccoli Raisin Salad over Listeria concerns.

On Monday, the company said a supplier indicated the product may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which could result in severe illness to those individuals who may consume this product.

The products were sold in several states, including Georgia.

To date, no one has been sickened, the company said. Listeriosis, an infection caused by Listeria, can pose major risks for certain populations, especially pregnant women, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

Last week, the company recalled several sunflower products over the same concerns.

Stores operating under the following names are included in this recall: Kroger, Jay-C, Dillons, Bakers, Gerbes, King Soopers, City Market, Fry's, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, QFC and Smith's.

Kroger has removed the items from store shelves and initiated its customer recall notification system that alerts customers who may have purchased the products through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.

The products were sold in: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas,Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina,Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Stores operating under the following names are included in theΒ recall: Kroger, Jay-C, Dillons, Bakers, Gerbes, and Food 4 Less (Mid-West only).

Customers who bought the affected products shouldn’t eat them, but should return them to the store for a full refund or replacement.

Questions may be directed to Kroger at (800) KROGERS from 8 a.m to 12 a.m. Eastern Time, Monday-Friday, and from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. Eastern Time Saturdays and Sundays.
