Last Chance: Submit Service Projects for Day of Community Service

Hotel Restaurant Week

Hotel Restaurant Week continues through Saturday, with 10 Atlanta hotel restaurants offering a special three-course dinner menu for $30. Participating restaurant in Midtown include:

• Park 75 at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta
• Room at Twelve Centennial Park
• Spice Market at W Atlanta-Midtown
• Eleven at The Loews Atlanta
• Livingston at The Georgian Terrace Hotel
• Lobby Bar & Bistro at Twelve Atlantic Station

Atlanta Day of Community Service

The Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services, Councilmember Howard Shook, and The Buckhead Church have partnered to host The City of Atlanta Day of Community Service on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Day of Community Service will incorporate projects across the city, and the event’s organizers have invited each councilmember to suggest projects in his or her respective district for volunteers to complete that day.

If you have any service projects that you would like included on the list, please email the following information to MCMcMillan@atlantaga.gov by Thursday, April 5^:

• Description of project
• Number of volunteers required
• Supplies required

Water Line Protection Service

Service Line Warranties of America and the National League of Cities have teamed up to offer Atlanta residents affordable warranties on their water and sewer service lines. These are the lines from the utility connection to your house. If they break, the repairs are the homeowner’s responsibility and can easily run into thousands of dollars. With these warranties, which cost $4.95 per month for the water line and $5.50 per month for the sewer line, the worry is eliminated. If you have a problem, the company will contact a local plumber and handle any necessary permitting. The warranty also includes any digging up of the ground, sidewalk or street. SAT Practice Test

A free SAT practice test will take place on Saturday, April 7 from 1-5 pm at the Georgia Tech Campus Kaplan Center located at 350 Ferst Drive, N.W., Atlanta, GA 30318. Please register in advance at www.kaptest.com.

Easter Sunday

Sunday is Easter, and you might still have a chance to make a reservation for brunch or lunch at a Midtown restaurant through Open Table.
