Leah Fleming Joins GPB Atlanta 88.5 as New "Morning Edition" Host

Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) is pleased to announce that Leah Fleming has been named as the new host of “Morning Edition” for GPB Atlanta 88.5 FM.

Fleming comes to Atlanta from GPB Macon, where she also served as the host of “Morning Edition,” since 2013. Prior to joining GPB Macon, Fleming spent six years at WLRN – Miami Herald News, where she served as a reporter and “All Things Considered” anchor and deputy news director. Before working in Florida, Fleming hosted “Morning Edition” at WABE in Atlanta.

Additionally, she has reported, produced and anchored news programs at stations including WAMC Northeast Public Radio in Albany, New York, and WJCT Public Broadcasting in Jacksonville, Florida. Fleming has also worked at NPR in Washington as a producer and mentor with NPR’s Next Generation project.

“I’m elated to return to Atlanta,” said Fleming. “There is a strong drumbeat in Atlanta that draws in newcomers to the culture originally defined by those who have called ATL home for decades. I’m excited to get in step with that beat and bring out the unique sound that makes this place feel so good to so many. “

GPB Atlanta 88.5’s former “Morning Edition” host Bradley George is now serving as the GPB Atlanta Bureau Chief. As a multi-award winning reporter, his work has appeared on NPR, American Public Media, and other national networks.
