LifeLine Animal Project's Top 10 List of 2016 And Our Fulton Pets of the Week

Meet two young boys who love to play, get along great with other dogs and would make terrific family pets, Scooby and Rocky.

It has been an amazing year for LifeLine Animal Project, and as 2016 comes to a close, we’d like to share some of our most important accomplishments of the year with you.

LifeLine Animal Project’s Top 10 List for 2016:

10. We rescued 304 exotic birds who were part of a hoarding case. These beautiful birds required specialized medical treatment, offsite housing, an army of volunteers and a bird expert whom we hired to manage the birds’ recovery and ongoing care.

9. We received Petco Foundation’s Lifesaving Impact Grant of $1.5 million dollars to help save even more animals in Atlanta.

8. We performed our 100,000th free or low-cost spay/neuter surgery in the Atlanta community, preventing several hundred thousand unwanted animals from being born and reducing the number of homeless pets in our community and shelters.

7. We worked with fantastic rescue partners who were crucial in helping us save so many lives.

6. We revised the Fulton County Animal Ordinances and created new ordinances, giving judges tools in their arsenal to fight cruelty, including stricter penalties and definitions for animal cruelty and neglect.

5. We provided over 1,800 pets in DeKalb and Fulton County with free vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter vouchers, food, collars leashes and more during our Healthy Pet events.

4. We cared for more animals than any other animal welfare group in Georgia with the help of 1,000 fantastic volunteers who put in 44 hours daily, helping us to care for 28,000 animals in our clinics, shelters and communities.

3. We received the holiday gift of our dreams as 374 homeless animals were adopted over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend!

2. We had amazingly committed donors who helped us meet not only our financial needs, but also donated items that our facilities need to function and keep the animals in our care comfortable.

1. We made history by becoming the first open-admission shelters in the Atlanta metro area to reach the no-kill threshold!
We look forward to even more accomplishments in metro Atlanta in 2017, and would love for you to join us! Click here to learn more about ways you can help make a difference in the lives of Atlanta's animals.

Fulton County Pets of the Week: Scooby and Rocky

Our first Pet of Week is Scooby, a super friendly guy who adores people and loves to make new friends. This very handsome boy has a smile that lights up the room and a sweet, playful disposition to go with it. Scooby is also great with other dogs, and would make a terrific canine brother for your playful pup! His adoption fee is only $25 throughout December, including his microchip and vaccinations. Scooby is already neutered and can go home with you today!

Our next Pet of the Week is Rocky, a two-year-old Pointer mix who is happy, healthy and handsome! Rocky is all about having fun, and watching him play is very entertaining. He loves to go for walks, play ball and play chase with his canine friends. Rocky qualifies for our December “Give Joy” promotion, so his adoption fee is only $25 including his microchip and vaccinations. Come meet this gem of a guy.
