Major Downtown, Cobb County Road Work This Weekend

ATLANTA, GA — The Georgia DOT will be working on virtually all of Atlanta's major freeways this weekend.

Here's what to expect:

Cobb County

• On I-575, one southbound lane will close between Barrett Parkway and the I-75 interchange from 8 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday and from 8 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.
• On I-575, the southbound entrance ramp and shoulder will close at Chastain Road from 8 p.m., Saturday and 5 a.m., Sunday.
• On I-575, the northbound shoulder will close between Shallowford Road and SR 92 from 8 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
• On I-75, three southbound lanes will close between SR 120 Loop/ South Marietta Parkway and SR 280/ Delk Road from 8 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday and from 8 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
• On I-75, a traffic shift will take place across all northbound lanes between the I-285 interchange and Windy Hill Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday and from 9 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday.
• On I-75, one northbound lane will close between Chastain Road and SR 92 from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday.
• On I-75, one northbound will close at the I-285 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Saturday and from 9 p.m., Saturday until 5 a.m., Sunday.

I-75 in Atlanta

• On I-75, up to two southbound lanes will close between Hudson Bridge Road and SR 155/ N. McDonough Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

I-285

• The I-285 northbound and southbound on and off ramps to and from US 278/US 78/SR 8/Hollowell Parkway will close from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday. Motorists traveling on US 278/US 78/SR 8/Hollowell Parkway to I-285 southbound can turn onto SR 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard; continue on SR 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard to I-20 eastbound; continue on I-20 eastbound to I-285 or southbound.
• Two westbound lanes and one eastbound lane will close between Glenwood Drive and the I-20 interchange from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.

I-20

• Two eastbound lanes will close just after SR 6/ Thornton Road and SR 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 7 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
• Resurfacing will take place on the I-20 eastbound ramp to I-75/I-85 southbound from 8 p.m., Saturday until 10 a.m., Sunday. The ramp will remain open.
• Resurfacing will take place on the I-20 westbound ramp to I-75/I-85 southbound from midnight on Sunday until 7 a.m., Sunday. The ramp will close.
• One westbound lane will close between the I-285 interchange and SR 70/Fulton Industrial Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday.
• The I-20 westbound exit ramp to Liberty Road will close and one westbound lane will close at Liberty Road from 9 p.m., Friday until 5 a.m., Monday for concrete rehabilitation.

I-75

• A traffic pace will take place on all I-75 southbound lanes starting at the Mount Vernon exit (the Cobb-Fulton county line) starting at 7 a.m., Saturday.
• Two southbound lanes will close between SR 331/ Forest Parkway and US 41/SR 3/ Tara Boulevard from 9 p.m., Friday until 7 a.m., Saturday.
• Up to three southbound lanes and shoulder will close between SR 331/ Forest Parkway and SR 54/ Jonesboro Road from 7 a.m., Saturday until 7 a.m., Sunday.
• Two northbound lanes will close between SR 54/ Jonesboro Road and US 41/SR 3/ Tara Boulevard from 7 a.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.

I-85 in Buckhead

• A traffic pace will take place on all I-85 southbound lanes between Lenox Road and the Buford Spring Connector starting at 7 a.m., Saturday.

I-75/I-85 Downtown Connector

• A traffic pace will take place on all I-75/I-85 northbound lanes between the Ralph McGill overpass and SR 10/Freedom Parkway starting at 7 a.m., Saturday.
• Four northbound lanes and shoulder will close between SR 10/ Freedom Parkway and the Brookwood Interchange nightly from 9 p.m., Friday until 9 a.m., Saturday; 9 p.m., Saturday until 9 a.m., Sunday; and from 9 p.m., Sunday until 5 a.m., Monday.

Georgia 400

• A traffic pace will take place on all SR 400 southbound lanes beginning at I-285 starting at 7 a.m., Saturday.
