Man Accused of Burglarizing Hank Aaron's Home Pleads Guilty

The man will serve 8 years in prison and 42 years on probation.

A 24-year-old man who is accused of being part of a trio that ransacked the home of Atlanta Braves legend Hank Aaron will spend the next eight years in prison after pleading guilty to burglary and theft by taking charges.

Prosecutors with the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office say that Isiah Slaton was one of three men who broke into the Aaron’s home on July 14, 2013, while Hank and his wife Billie were out of town. After disabling the security system, the thieves allegedly stole several rings Aaron planned to donate to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. The Aaron’s two BMWs were also stolen, but were recovered without being stripped of parts.

Aaron was interviewed by police following the incident, and said the break in made him feel violated. The slugger socked 755 home runs for the Milwaukee and Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers between 1954 and 1976.
