Man Shot and Killed on Auburn Avenue Tuesday Evening

Police believe the victim knew the person who shot him.

A man is dead after he was shot on Auburn Avenue on Tuesday evening, Atlanta police told Patch.

According to Officer John Chafee, police were called to the 100 block of Auburn Avenue at approximately 9:40 p.m. Tuesday and discovered a man in his mid twenties who had been shot “at least 1 or 2 times.” The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives have responded to the crime scene, Chafee said. Although no suspects or motive have yet been determined, detectives believe the victim and the shooter knew each other, and that the victim was targeted for some reason.
