Man Walks Into Midtown Home, Asks Resident For Money

A Midtown resident got an unwelcome surprise on Saturday night when a complete stranger walked into his house and asked him for money.

According to WSB-TV, the man had just returned home from a night out with friends and hadn’t locked his door when the man walked inside. The homeowner yelled at the intruder to leave, then grabbed his cell phone and followed the intruder as he left the house.

The homeowner called 911 and was on the phone with operators for five blocks pursuing the intruder, WSB-TV said. Police said a similar incident was reported about a block away a few weeks ago.

The neighborhood watch says it will step up patrols in the area.
